1983 Laurea in Medicina e Chirurgia presso l’Università degli Studi di Firenze con votazione 108/110.

1985-1986 Postdoctoral training con borsa di studio presso il Dipartimento di Farmacologia dei Laboratori di Ricerca Synthelabo (Parigi, Francia) sotto la supervisione dei Dott. Solomon Langer ed Icilio Cavero. Perfezionamento di varie tecniche “in vivo” ed “in vitro” di neurofarmacologia e farmacologia cardiovascolare.

1987 Diploma di Specializzazione in Farmacologia presso la I^o Università degli Studi di Napoli con votazione 70/70.

1987 Vincitore del concorso per Ricercatore in Farmacologia (SSD BIO/14) presso la Facoltà di Medicina e Chirurgia dell’Università degli Studi di Reggio Calabria.

1987-1989 “Visiting Scientist” presso il Dipartimento di Farmacologia e Psichiatria sperimentale della Mayo Clinic (Rochester, MN, USA); svolgimento di ricerche sugli aspetti farmacologici della neurotensina sui recettori del Sistema Nervoso Centrale e sul sistema cardiovascolare.

1990-1990 Collaborazione con il Dipartimento di Farmacologia Clinica dell’Istituto di Ricerca Mario Negri (Milano, Italia) nel disegno e conduzione degli studi clinici.

1990 Ricercatore Confermato presso la Cattedra di Farmacologia della Facoltà di Medicina e Chirurgia dell’Università degli Studi di Reggio Calabria.

1991-1993 Collaborazione con il Dipartimento di Farmacologia dell’ Istituto di Ricerca Prassis (Milano, Italia) sullo sviluppo di modelli sperimentali per la valutazione di nuovi composti terapeutici nel campo cardiovascolare.

1996-2003 Collaborazione con Organizzazione Europea per la Ricerca e Trattamento del Cancro (EORTC Bruxelles, Belgio) come Medical Advisor per i gruppi cooperativi “Soft Tissue and Bone Sarcoma”, “Osteosarcoma” “Radiotherapy” e “Chronotherapy” groups, per coordinare gli studi clinici in ambito oncologico, dall’ideazione della ricerca alla pubblicazione dei risultati, integrando le attività svolte dagli investigatori, con quelle dello statistico e dei data manager (EORTC Data Center.
